(NOTE: This information applies to all of the I.P. Phones installed in all RISD buildings)
If you are having a problem with your phone please log in to: Helpdesk using your Groupwise login and password. Please remember to include your name, extension number, school, room number and a brief description of the problem.
Things to know about the IP Phone System
When dialing within the R.I.S.D. Network, you only have to dial the 4 digit extension.
When dialing from your I.P. Phone to an outside number, you must first dial 9 + the
Callers from outside the R.I.S.D. Network, must first dial the school number then the
person's extension, they will then be connected to the teacher's voicemail.
Phones within the classroom will not ring when receiving calls from outside the R.I.S.D.
Network, but will ring when receiving calls from within the R.I.S.D. Network.
To speak to a teacher directly, from outside the R.I.S.D. Network, persons must first
call the school number and ask the secretary to transfer the call to that teacher.
IF A PHONE IS ALREADY ASSIGNED TO YOU IN A BUILDING AND YOU MOVE TO A
DIFFERENT ROOM, YOU MAY TAKE THE PHONE WITH YOU. IF YOU TRANSFER TO
A NEW BUILDING YOU CAN NOT TAKE THE PHONE. YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED A NEW
PHONE IN THAT BUILDING.
