Harry Tackett

Harry Tackett has 20 years experience as a class room teacher and administrator from elementary to the college level. His current position with RISD is Director of Federal Programs where he manages and oversees Title I, Title II, Title IV, and Title V programs. He has worked in RISD as teacher and administrator at high school, middle school, and elementary school. As principal and an instructional leader at Military Heights Elementary, Mr. Tackett guided his school to state and national recognition. The school was recognized by the NM state Department of Education for "Outstanding Achievement on Standardized Tests" six consecutive years. Under his leadership, the school received national recognition and was ranked in the top 2% nationally four consecutive years for its outstanding reading program. As founder and director of Executive Funding Resources, Mr. Tackett has secured many grants for schools, school districts, and non-profit agencies. He has been successful in securing grant funds for private schools, public education, higher education, technology labs, police departments, municipalities, and health care organizations. He conducts two and four day grant proposal writing workshops and has successfully taught hundreds of people successful grant writing skills.   Harry has extensive experience in data analysis, data driven decision making, and data driven instructional interventions. He has used this experience and his training in aligning curriculum to state standards and training teachers to use "Power Standards" to help drive instruction. He has extensive experience in training administrators in the use of classroom walk through to help identify and facilitate high yield instructional strategies.  Harry has presented at many state and national conferences on topics including alternative funding, grant proposal writing, effective schools, data analysis, and data driven interventions.
