Special Services Department
| The Special Services Department supports parents, teachers, related service personnel and administrative staff in the location, identification, and provision of educational services for exceptional students within the Roswell Independent School District. The department coordinates Child Find activities, screening, and referrals, with formal educational and specialized evaluations. The department coordinates initial placements in special education instructional programs and support services throughout the district maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. These services are provided in a variety of settings ranging from regular classroom settings with support services, resource room services, small self-contained classrooms to homebound services. The Special Services department coordinates referral intake, formal educational evaluations, assistive technology evaluation and services, needs assessment, transportation, data collection and reporting, placement of student teachers, practicum students and interns, professional development for general and special education personnel, parent training, and the screening, selection and evaluation of Special Services staff throughout the district.
