"Every moment counts, every Mustang matters!"

Having children in school, every day, is vital to their academic success.   As a reminder, you are required to call your child in via the office (637-3425) when they are not going to be in school, each day they are absent.  In addition, vacations, shopping trips, family reunions, and the like are not considered excused absences.

When a child has three unexcused absences, an attendance letter is sent home.  When a student has five unexcused absences, a referral is made to Truancy Court.  When a student has ten or more unexcused absences, a referral is made to district court.  Student unexcused absences are cumulative over the course of the student's school career.  If there are extenuating circumstances regarding your child's absences, please contact the school and make an appointment to meet with either Mrs. Shanor or Mrs. Morales to discuss the issue so that we can best assist you and your child.

This semester, student attendance is again part of our Military Heights Elementary School 90-Day Plan.  The students and staff will celebrate each day, zero tardies, zero absences, and/or zero early dismissals by dancing in the hallway; we have yet to be able to do this.  All students with perfect attendance (no tardies, no absences, AND no early dismissals) will participate in an "AttenDANCE" in the gym.  Our first "AttenDANCE" will be next week!

Thank you for your continued support!
