Clubs and Activities Offered at Valley View

Drama Club: Drama Club is open to students in second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. During drama club, students practice reading with expression, using body language to convey emotions, improvisation, and acting out various scenes. Drama club is only available during the Fall semester, as it is replaced with Play Practice during the Spring.

School Play: At the beginning of the Spring semester, students in second, third, fourth, and fifth grade audition for the spring production. Students then begin regular rehearsals for our school play. In May, students perform a final dress rehearsal for the student body, followed by an evening performance for the community.

Harry Potter Club: The Harry Potter Club is a student inspired club based on students' interest in the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling. During Harry Potter Club, students meet to discuss the book they are currently reading, as well as share their inspiration from the text. Currently, the Harry Potter Club is only open to fourth grade students.

Crazy 8s Math Club: The Crazy 8s Math Club is only available to students in the second grade. This year, only students in Ms. Rydholm's class participated in the Crazy 8s Math Club. During Math Club, students explore mathematical concepts with fun activities to connect the relevance of math to every day life. After each meeting, students take home materials to continue their learning and exploration of the weekly math concept. The Crazy 8s Math Club has concluded for the 2016-2017 school year.

After School Tutoring: After school tutoring may be offered in each grade level for one hour to three hours each week from September through April. Students are offered tutoring at the discretion of the teacher. If you believe your child may be in need of tutoring, then please contact your child's teacher to see whether tutoring is available.
